currently searching using quicksearch on bugzilla.mozilla.org queries comments as well as bug metadata. on january 24th we will be changing this to exclude comments by default.

if you enter a term into the quicksearch field in bugzilla’s header or footer, the current behaviour is for bugzilla to search fields and comments on all open bugs. due to the quantity of bugs and comments on bugzilla, this can result in queries taking longer than expected. we will be changing the default behaviour to no longer include comments.

if you want to retain the old behaviour, login and change “Include comments when performing quick searches (slower)“ in user preferences to “on”.

alternatively you can include “++comments“ or “–comments“ as a quicksearch term to exclude or include comments respectively.
